Gobs do you successional plant or does your early planting go right through the season?

I sow again(other type) in early spring, March. These winter ones finish end of June on average.

They shoot and sprout and flower again, but not much worth bothering with IMHO.

Aquadulce is a braod bean isn't it?  Do you sow runner beans early too?  if so when and what variety?

I thought we were talking broad beans here, Cawdor. Runner beans I don't grow much at all, as we prefer French beans. I sow those beginning of may to go out in a few weeks time.

Runner Beans

I sow my runners indoors in about April/May. But they souldn't be planted out until the chance of frost is over.  Beginning of June is safe,  but I can often get away with May down in the South East.

There's lots of varieties to choose from, they are all pretty good.  Just choose what sounds good on the packet and see how it does in your soil.  White Lady is one of my favourite, and Im trying Wisley Magic this year.
