I only have two igorina and i would say mine get through a sack roughly every 3-4 months but I have never kept an exact eye on it.
As for food and drink inside the house, I started off by having both outside in the run but soon got annoyed with it as the food was always getting mushy in the rain and they would knock over both quite regulary.  They had the standard poultry type feeders and drinkers when I first got them but since then I have actually put their food in their house and that works much better although I was at first worried they wouldnt find it!!  :oops:  
I also changed their drinker to a bottle, like the ones you use for rabbits etc.  I found quite a large one and it works great, easy to clean and doesnt get knocked over or dirty.  
Good luck, you'll get a lot of enjoyment out of it and you'll soon be boring everyone you know with stories about your chickens! (though never us!)

A very interesting post thank you jammy.  We all have to find ways that work for us in our own situation. We can't get things right from other peoples experiences.  It's or own that count, but very interesting to get good ideas from others.

I've just found out that i may be moving in the next month or so, so all plans are on hold until i know whats going on and can check with my new landlord.
