Anyone know a pea variety that is tall and can be sown to overwinter please  5/6ft tall

Having "Googled" it I found the following:-

You need a first early variety such as Feltham First, Meteor or Pilot which can be sown now (the post was made in October) under cloches or in a cold frame for harvesting next May/June.

If he grew them on a raised bed then they wouldn't be that short! :lol:
