Dahlia question
« on: June 18, 2016, 17:06 »
I dug up some dahlia tubers from the plot today. They had obviously started to grow and the shoots had been munched off
Is it too late to try and salvage them. The tubers look sturdy but I'm not sure if they will grow again if I pot them up, or even if it's too late now. Or is it the compost heap for them.

Thanks very much.

Elaine

I'd pot them up and hope they have  some buds that will regrow. Keep them slimer-free of course.

They might not grow any flowers this year, but at least if they grow some leaves, you'll be able to keep the roots alive for next year. Good luck!

Thanks mum will pot them up and see what happens. You have saved them from the compost heap!
