What happened to all the slugs?

Last night I went down to the plot in trepidation after a ridiculous amount of rain over the past 10 days and was pleasantly surprised at the limited amount of slug damage. Prior to this it had been too dry for much slug activity.

I sprinkled a few more pellets down before I left and two hours later the heavens opened again and we had another inch of rain in no time at all. 

 

Agreed, it's not good is it? 

So bad here, slug pellets in the hanging baskets....
