Has anyone else noticed that the slug plague that was predicted following the mild winter does not seem to have materialised? Despite loads of recent rain, I haven't really noticed much damage or signs of slugs in the usual places. I even wondered if I was wasting my time putting down the Nemaslug yesterday. Maybe there were so many that they've all died off from plague of nematodes?

They are all here  I've lost many more veg plants and flowers than usual, despite using pellets

There are quite a few down here in Devon too. and they're very fond of cabbage.

Clearly they are holidaying at my allotment on full board.  They now get extras - pellets of death.....

Looks like it was too wet for them up north and they've headed south for some sunshine

oops sorry my fault, I might have put a bit too many slug pellets down on my plot and is attracting everyone else's slugs and snails in my direction .... 

With all the rain we've recently had, the trek across my patio to the garden usually results in the sound of crushed shell (barf emoticon)

I treated my potatoes with nematodes and I am experimenting with yeast in the beer trap rather than beer as recommended by Adam an 'Allotment Grow How' on Youtube.  I haven't caught one slug so far but of course I don't know whether that is because yeast works or there aren't any.

If you would like some big fat orange Spanish slugs to try your yeast trap on Oakridge, I'd happily send you a few hundred - happy to share the wealth....

They are having a right old party here as well. They have even taken to eating the foliage on potatoes after I applied the blue death to all the other beds.

I had that last year for the first time, but not a sign so far this year. I'm off on holiday for a week tomorrow, so I may have jinxed myself and will come back to a collection of stalks

I've got more (far too many) snails rather than slugs but not a shortage of either ...

It is very strange. In 'normal' years we are overrun with the little darlings.
