when to uncover graft?
« on: June 10, 2016, 15:55 »
i tried doing some doging grafting is all i can describe it as this year. i done it a little late really and with not ideal scions. i used the bark graft technique and have actually had success with one of the grafts, so happy with that.

now how long do i need to leave the wrapping on for?

thanks for any advice.

thin strips of industrial cling wrap secured with electrical tape, people on here said cling wrap was similar to the proper tape.

The cling film will probably stretch enough to not be a problem for a long time yet, not so sure about the electrical tape. As long as it isn't restricting the expansion of the stem it will be ok. About three months is suggested.

I would leave it alone unless you can see it is constricting the stem. The union won't be very strong yet and it would be a disaster to knock it off.

The recommended three months isn't that far off then. No need to rush with it though.
