Jute pea nets
« on: May 08, 2016, 19:56 »
Hi all,

Has anybody tried this 'new idea' pea net made from Jute?  I wonder how long it lasts before biodegrading to dust!
 comments please,

Mike.

I taught myself to make nets a while ago and was thinking of making a pea net from garden twine. I don't grow a lot of peas and have some lengths of weld-mesh I use for support so didn't bother in the end.

Not long it seems

The idea is to put the whole lot, spent plants and netting, into the compost at the end of the season.  I'm sure it looks very pretty, but it could work out expensive if you grow more than a token amount of peas.
