It's really damp on my plot too, but I'm going to try and get them in the ground this weekend - into raised beds which helps.  But I'm also going to raise them up a bit by putting them in a raised trench with manure - basically get them up out of the wet puddled ground as much as possible.

I guess we will have to bite the bullet soon. My potato bed is pretty wet too but scarcely surprising with the April showers. I have roughly prepared my bed added potato fertiliser and watered in some nematodes this morning so the next dry day my early spuds will go in. Not sure it matters whether they are early/second early or main crop.
