The spanish one looks a brilliant piece of kit, I wonder where I could get one. I plant about 100 seed potatoes so £25 pounds isn't that much  especially if I shared it with my allotment neighbour

There seem to be no hits in English for this product. Bizarre. I bought it for onions (I plant about 400 plus 250 shallots a year) and leeks (about 80). I wouldn't be without it now.

These guys (Nasarre S.L.) do send abroad, but at 2.5 kg, it could be expensive. I'll send them a general email asking how much to ship one of these to the UK and see what they say, just to find out.

Yup that's what I've got, my old allotment neighbour gave me his when he gave up what was to become my 2nd plot, hubby rotovates the bed, then I follow behind with said tool. I find it a bit fiddly plus it could do with being a bit deeper but I like to use it just the same, sometimes I rake or Adz(sp) a bit of a trench first then use the tool to get them a bit deeper. I balance on a scaffold board so I don't undo rotovating,so it can be a bit time consuming but as I don't walk on my beds I don't compact the soil.

I use a soil investigation 75mm dia hand auger and our site rep has a 150mm fencing post auger, the tool show in the link above looks like a post hole digger see below

I use one, love it to bits however I still dig a trench and muck the trench in, back fill then top dress then after a couple of weeks use the tool to plant me spuds.
mine is the large bulb planter type.

Blurry ell! I've had one of these for years. It's been buried in the back of the shed where all the big spiders live.
I was told that it was used for digging fence post holes and that is what it has been used for.
Time to grease it up and give it its proper use I think
