What wood preservatives would be safe to use on a chicken house? Is there anything to look for in particular on the tin?

Thanks

The Katie Thear book says that anything which is marked suitable for bats (as they are protected species) will be OK for hens.

We use Cuprinol - none of them have keeled over yet :!:  I think the stuff to avoid is old fashioned creosote-type preserver.

Never asked me then

Cuprinol water based is a good start,  but most water based products are ok look for low VOC on the side of the tin and they all should have helpline number just to check.
He who asks is a fool for five minutes, but he who does not ask remains a fool forever.

Thanks Richy - sorry, bit of a harsh joke really.  Not all sheds are the same, I know.  There's one local to us staffed by extras from Shaun of the Dead and it sticks in mind.
