Is it ok to order seed potatoes now, or is it best to wait until later in the month?

If ordering on-line do it asap or they might not send what you ordered, and you may receive them too late to chit.

Had the wilco's paper bag in hand, reading the varieties but decided against it as most said plant in April and I had images of the dried up, long shooted potatoes you see in bargain shops reduced at the end of the year.

If chitted somewhere cool and light, you wan't have a problem. I'd get them while you can.
Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?

Our local poundland have Desiree seed spuds at 8 for £1 and 300grms Stutgarter onion sets for £1. They do look a bit small though.

Thats very brave, have you done this before?
How do they perform, frost free you say but there aint a great deal of light around this early?
I was disappointed with my Christmas spuds done this way and im convinced it was the lack of daylight rather than the temps as it hasnt been below 10 degrees in my greenhouse since feb 2015!
