It might do better; on my Flymo, I have to check underneath regularly as the grass tends to clump against the body of the mower when wet.

However, if your grass isn't standing upright owing to the wet weather, the hover mower might struggle a little perhaps?
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days all attack me at once...

Cut mine today mostly to chop up the leaves that we're all over it. The grass was a bit wet, but I figured that I couldn't possibly make the lawn worse than it is! It has been dreadful all year and need a complete overhaul. I don't think I am able to do it myself anymore, so I might have to call in a professional.😳

A hover is a good idea, and at least is much lighter and easier to clean every now and then.

Trouble with very wet grass, is that it sticks to the frame and weighs the thing down even further, so is liable to cut much shorter than required at this time of year.

Cleaning the rotary really is a chore, and while I believe it's impossible, there's always the suspicion that the blade my just pop one revolution when one's fingers are safely/dangerously near...

Doh! Growster

Always always always take the pug out when you turn any lawnmower over to clean the blades.

No electricity means no speedy finger cutting off blade rotation  ;)

You're quite right, Cadders, and well worth a reminder too.

I use Green Thumb for mine (I have no connection with the firm).
I work very hard so don't expect me to think as well.

It is quite a relief to read of others cutting lawns so late in the year. I was asked to cut ours during the week - just waiting for a patch of not too damp and I'll be out there.

Long grass, damp ground -  certainly makes pushing a rotary motor-mower heavy going. The petrol cylinder mower wont manage it... prefers shorter posher looking lawn.

I wonder if Santa could help... new mower? Maybe not. Reindeer loan to pull the old one perhaps?

Just taken advantage of a couple of dry days to mow the lawn and trim the edges. It's been very mild here, up to 14c some days, and with no shortage of rain in these parts the grass has just kept on growing.

I was all set to do mine this morning but the rain has set in again  >:(

I know there are worse things at the moment but it's beginning to bug me now, not the length but the fact I can't find a window to cut it.

It's got to be because my lawn hasn't stopped growing but it's too wet to mow!

Mowed mine about a month ago but they need doing again. Main problem is general detritus blown in from trees during Storms Desmond, Eva and Frankie

The grass is soo long, but I can't cut it now cos the Spring bulbs are all showing through. Think it'll be a hayfield by the time it gets cut again! Oh dear
