2 winter squash plants - 2 squash fruits between them.  :nowink:

Sage leaves are full of holes, and the parsley plants have lost most of their leaves due to a persistent attack by small caterpillars - need to investigate possible culprits as they are both new problems for me...

Blueberries very disappointing this year - didn't even bother netting or harvesting them. Few flowers - cause again unknown.
Sow your seeds, plant your plants. What's the difference? A couple of weeks or more when answering possible queries!

One of the best things about being an orang-utan is the fact that you don't lose your good looks as you get older

Courgettes, (seems to be a common problem this year so feel a bit better now)
Dwarf French Beans, lots of greenage but very few flowers and beans (both in garden and at Allotment)
SunFlowers ( Does this count? very small compared to previous years)

No Broad Beans - Blackfly invasion
No courgette - first time ever, not a single one
Very poor cauliflower, small and quickly turned brownish

Squash and climbing pumpkins - really poor yields.
Basil - 11 plants, at least 8 have been eaten alive by caterpillars.
Carrots - no luck at all this year.

My failures this year are:

1). Squash,  1 fruit from 2 plants.
2) courgettes, 4 from three plants.
3) sweetcorn.  Half a cob, rest eaten by some sort of creature, probably a mouse/rat.
4) parsnips.  1 from 2 rows sown three times!
5) raspberries, pathetic.

Runners and french beans very late, 2 sowings required, first plants wiped out by cold and wind.

Beans and peas have been a disaster. Not helped by the fact that my escapee sheep seemed to have a particular love for them!
Cucamelons. Tried them last year and they were amazing so this year I grew loads and I've not had a single one. Healthy vigorous vines and loads of flowers but not one fruit has set.
Top fruit. Despite loads of blossom and not noticeable late frosts a disappointing crop from all but the cherries (which the birds eat1).
Be like a duck. Calm on the surface but always paddling like the dickens underneath.

I was very late sowing and planting out due to waiting for the warmth of spring to arrive, so difficult to know where to draw the line of a not so good year.
- Sweetcorn productive but yield small (only 1 cob per plant, most only about 4-5 inch long but well filled)
- Squashes - seemed to be a lack of bees this year especially the bumble bees so not many fruit set (average 1 per plant, some none at all or too late)
- Potatoes - my fault for not realising we hadn't had as much rain this summer than I'd like to think we had so most died back earlier than usual with lots of small tubers.

beetroot 3 out of 750 seeds
onions half normal size
french bean and runners way below average.

hardly surprising given august was more like October in rain and day and night time temperatures
