Lice Egg Cases

Hello all,

One of my chickens had some lice.  I have treated with powder and can't see anything moving anymore (but I am continuing to treat in case of further hachings of the lice eggs).

I have read the excellent article on here

but still have a question.

Should I trim the feathers round here rear end - the ones with the eggs/egg cases - or should I leave them to drop off naturally?

The powder will not kill the louse eggs Hitman, just the hatched lice.  The usual advice is to pluck the feathers out, but I once had a bad lice infestation on my birds and couldn't face doing this to my poor chickens. 

I was advised on here to try Frontline and that worked really well  :)  Most vets will pescribe it if you explain the problem to them.

I have dustbath in their run and add louse powder to this,so they self dust. They do get checked as well.
