A friend of ours was complaining about the ant and bug problem in her garden and asked if we could take round our hens, as we don't have these problems any more :)

We decided to trial the proposal by taking them first to my Mother in Law. It worked very well I am sure the birds were quite shocked to see such an expanse of of green lawn ::).  Well they soon got stuck in and then moved on to the borders and the multitude of ants.

I got the idea from the BHWT website which showed a lady who took her hens on holiday, on the her narrow boat, she kept them in a dog cage on the front of the boat. That would be the poop deck

I am hoping we can do this on a regular basis which will be good for my birds. I do insist though that no chemicals have been used on the gardens we go to. No ant powder, fertiliser, or weedkiller :)

Know what would be nice in your garden, a few hens lol
