Strawberry plants

Hi There,Old strawberry plants, compost bin or burn them? they are not infected just come to the end of there live.

I'd compost them, the viruses that strawberries get are spread by aphids, or so I've read.

Sorry Nobbie - I'd burn them to prevent the virus contaminating the compost. Not sure if it would but better safe than sorry.
I work very hard so don't expect me to think as well.

How do you know when the plant has come to the end of their life or cycle etc? :unsure: :unsure: :unsure:

What virus? The poster says they haven't got any. I'd compost them.
Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?

It's a mayyer of age. After three possibly four years, the plants get less productive. I try and start off a new row each year from runners.
