Climbers for my chicken wire

I have 4ft fence what could I grow to eat or for the bees? I have a golden hop so far and a perennial sweet pea in the flower border.

Any of the pea or bean family should give you a good show of flowers and you will have something for the bees and something for yourself at the end of the season, cheers Dave

Maybe an early flowering clematis - Bill Mackenzie - or even an earlier one?  To provide something for pollinators early on. The seed heads are lovely too.  And it's not a thug like clematis montana.

I've put a clematis montana on my shed which is now escaping off along the fence, looks fantastic but I'm slightly worried it's staging some kind of takeover.

Quick fix for this summer might be nasturtiums, and as well as being loved by bees, you could eat them too  :D

If there's room for an outdoor cuke or two they do a lot better climbing up something than trailing all over the soil (need a fairly sunny spot though.)
Sow your seeds, plant your plants. What's the difference? A couple of weeks or more when answering possible queries!

Attach some guttering to it horizontally and put lettuce seeds in  :)

I've done it on my fence and it works a treat as long as you water well.
