Well done, the blessed blackbird nips mine off the plant whilst they are still green and leaves them lying on the ground, pest!
STOP, and smell the roses!

If it gives me more wayleaves from SWSBO to go to the allotment then it's worth it, and after all I did plant them for her, as she loves them, and I happen to love her.....

OK lovey dovey sickly stuff over, I'm off to go and play with the mud  :nowink:

Got a small bowl full today and there seems to be loads coming in the best few days - not sure why given the cold spring but looks like a bumper year :-). I gave one of the tortoises a not so good one and he looked disgusted there wasn't more headed his way!!!

I heard somewhere that because we had a reasonably arm winter we were likely to have a good soft fruit harvest.

I have one row of an early variety planted last autumn thats been giving a small number daily for the last 10 days or so. But I have 8 other rows of other varieties that have been heaving with flowers so theres going to be some serious strawberry eating, jam making, ice cream making, smoothie making, you name it making. We have a rule in our household, which is that you cant have too many strawberries.
