Do not know why mine are so pale and no ridges. all your lovely orange ones put mine to shame. will post piccy soon regardless.

I would imagine it is either a different variety or it has not changed colour yet.

It's most likely down to the variety as Snowdrops said. I grew Hundredweight and Big Max this year...the big max are nice and orange, the hundredweight are pale, quite flat and smooth.

Tom Fox is apparently a more ridgey type.

Think you both spot on. It was a cheap seed packet from al-i. Tore top off so not sure of variety.

Only two of mine survived and they aren't the prettiest nor the biggest, but I'll put a pic of them up here anyway.  I'll try to do a pic closer to later, just haven't had a chance.

That field pumpkin is gorgeous - have you been polishing it, whispering 'my precious'?  :D

Here's my effort for this year, down on previous years but it seems like that for most people.

Last couple of days to send in pics for entries.

Must make up my mind if any of mine are worth pointing the camera at  :nowink:

I'm so jealous!!
I didn't get a single pumpkin from 4 plants. I did have one fruit that was the size of a golf ball but it vanished overnight. I blame the rabbit!!
Oh well I'll try again next year!
Well done everyone they look great :D
