We forgot to take our runners in last evening, luckily, it was pretty warm, so they're OK...

The forecasters say no frost in the foreseeable future but beware the Days of the Ice Saints, 14th, 15th, 16th May.

There is often a sudden frost on those days. Minus 6 C here on 15th May 2 or may be 3 years ago.

I must be late. I haven't got any runners up yet, or anything else tender, except for potatoes.

I have a record of frost on 14/15 May in 2012 - the year we had the hose pipe ban imposed in April!

When I went down the plot this afternoon I spotted a lot of people had put runners out and a fair few had out squash/courgette plants out! Some only had their seed leaves though

Maybe I will brave my squash and corn later in the week once they are properly hardened off....

I also put my beans out

Also popped a few seeds in just in case  :)

Then the old Italian man came along who's been there 40+ years and put his Tomatoes out  ???

I did say to him hat the temp is meant to drop this week, and he assured me they would be fine.
So a little happier about putting them out.

So next week out go my tom's

You are not late at all.  Today I moved 3 tomatoes to an unheated polytunnel, with fingers crossed.   The rest remain scattered round the house.  I sowed beans, courgettes and cucumber on Friday, just poking through.  Sweetcorn is chitting on wet kitchen towel.   Outside stuff will be going out after hardening off in the first week of June.  More stuff for the polytunnel a bit earlier.

Met office showing night time lows of 6 or 7C from Tuesday, here, so guess nothing will be planted out for another week or so. Personally I'd rather be safe than sorry ;)
