It's powder coated I think. I think it would come off. I thought the paint finish added about £300.

Powder coating should last a lifetime, Snows, it's a process which is 'burnt' on, and used for coloured windows in office blocks etc!

You'll be fine with yours, and that's a lovely looking greenhouse too!

Have a look at rhino greenhouses, I bought a 8x10 a few years ago & im still thrilled with it,not cheap mind,but comes with toughened glass as standard. One of the highest eaves heights,level access & 3 opening lights on each side as standard & I think the 2 louvre were as standard,so lots of ventilation. I think it was from greenhouses direct.

Snows! Why did you say that!  I had a look and now I want one.  They've even got a cedar lean-to which would replace my old one beautifully!

Oohs sorry Annen, but you wouldn't regret it, trouble with wood it eventually rots, that's why I went with aluminium as I won't be having another one.

We bit the bullet and bought a 10' x 6' cedar one in 1997, and it was lovely to see and use, but the foundation timbers eventually rotted, and we had to take it down a couple of years ago! I wanted to try and rescue it, and posted here for any ideas, but some of the tenons on the window sections went as well, and in the end, it just had to go!

The green coated aluminium one we have now is slightly lower, but suits us just fine, and we can still use all the old staging from the wooden one!

Oooooh, when I eventually took down our cedar greenhouse, the last bit of roof (minus glass), bonked me on the head, and also caused a little problem with an arm trying to stop it bonking anywhere else on my small but perfectly formed frame...

But we really loved that bit of luxury, and were sorry to see it go!

But on the more cheerful note, the new green chap is just fabulous, and easy to clean, maintain and it looks pretty good as far as we're concerned (and our neighbour says she likes it as well)!

Growster, that looks lovely but I haven't got room for one like that and rhino don't seem to do a lean-to. I haven't done careful comparisons but the cedar lean-to I'm looking at [size=78%]http://www.greenhousesdirect.co.uk/Greenhouses/Growhouse/Growhouse/Lean%20To%206x8/[/size]
looks to be a better fit for the existing base than any metal ones. If I went for a metal lean-to I like the Halls with the curved eaves[size=78%]http://www.greenhousesdirect.co.uk/Greenhouses/Halls/Lean%20To/[/size]
