Stawberry popcorn.
« on: April 25, 2015, 11:15 »
Has anyone grown it? My garden centre friend gave me a cob yesterday cos he knows I like something different and he doesn't think he will get round to growing any. Popcorn is big here so am going to try to squeeze some in....away from my regular sweetcorn. What a headache. Loving it! :D

I've never heard of it before but I looked it up and it looks amazing! Let us know how you get on - especially trying to keep it away from the 'normal' varieties which would be my problem I think

I'm growing it this season too. It looks lovely, I just hope that the resident furries leave the cobs alone so I get some.

One of the gardening you-tubers I watch grew it one season. She showed sowing the seed all the way to popping the kernels. Here's a link to one of the vids

I've just watched her video of popping the corn as well. It looks great! Definitely on my wish list for next year

I sowed Cherokee Long Ear popcorn today. The kernels have such pretty colors! Now all I have to do is wait a hundred days and see what develops!
