morning all
my plot has had a fair amount of muck in it over the last 4 years......will i need to feed my potato bed as they grow..something like potato fertiliser   ty

Good morning. If you have a look at the growing veg section of the site you will find quite detailed instructions about potato fertiliser depending on whether they are earlies or main crop etc. personally I normally sprinkle some chicken poo pellets on the bed a few days before I plant and perhaps during the season. Best advice is to check status of soil with a comprehensive test kit but I doubt most of us do that. Spuds benefit from wood ash but that can make the soil too alkaline and create scab but shouldn't be an issue I would think if you have added lots of muck in past. Perhaps worth a cheap Ph test kit if you haven't done before so you know whether to add ash
