Sad seed counter...
« on: April 04, 2015, 12:21 »
Just this year, the numbers of seeds in packets have varied quite a lot...

Courgette 10 on packet, 11 inside...
Squash 10 on packet 8 inside...
Sungold toms 10 on packet 20 inside...
Sweetcorn 20 on packet 30 inside...

and finally...

Lettuce 1200 on packet 1455 inside...

Either someone should've gone to Spicsavvies or it's like counting goslings: 1, 2, 3, 4 (stay still) 5 - er no  - 7 - no, er - 1, 2, 3 etc.  :D
I work very hard so don't expect me to think as well.

Exam question.

I have a 25g packet of Lobelia from Moles Seeds. Given that there are approximately 25,000 seeds per gram, how long would it take Growster to count the exact number, assuming he didn't sneeze part way through.
Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?

I'm so, so sorry, the sweetcorn sums were wrong!

It should have been 30 on packet, 40 inside!

I must become a better Growster..;0(

Can you all forgive me?

You missed out the tincture variable - plus what assumptions on how many Growster has had/is planning on imbibing?

Soon be the witching hour, Surbie, so I'll let you know...

I think I deserve something as I've just got back from weeding and tilling two 8' x 4' beds...

None - I use an Abagos!!  Meterman has got it so right - spooky really - as I was only thinking the same thing today; however, I now have someone I can pass on any extras to, so sod Sod's Law.  ;) Is it me or is Growster wimping out here because is not high up on mental arithmetics, lost his slide rule, no batteries in his calculator, no available fingers because they are - how shall we say - "tincturally-employed" and thinks he deserves a little drinky-poo just because he had weeded and tilled two small 8' x 4' beds? Pufftt - I've just weeded and almost finished planting two 18' x 6' raised beds. Am I complaining? Nope - it's 5 o'clock somewhere now innit!!

I'll have you know that they were pretty damn difficult to clean, Goosey!

The leeks therein had to be hoiked and heeled in elsewhere, and while the tiller is perfect for weeding, there's so much bending involved, that I had to keep doing the straightening exercise which was getting on my nerves and I had to talk to some of the other plot-people as well...

So it's goose feathers at dawn for you an' me...!

;0)

(and it's an 'abacus', not an 'abagos'...;0)
