dehydrating toms sauce
« on: April 01, 2015, 09:04 »
I'm off back packing in May just drying onions, mushrooms and grated carrots also plan spinach or kale next and fat babies.

I'm thinking about drying tomatoes with puree and garlic to make a base sauce to which I can add veg spices and rice or pasta for different meals.

Any tips I guess is will be like a fruit leather.

What about dehydrating the ingredients separately and then blitzing them into powder once they've dried. That might be more water soluble than leather.
