Tornado Tomato seeds

Evening all. RHS list tornado as one of their 3 choices for growing, but I cannot find tornado seeds anywhere?am I missing something? And has anyone grown them ?
When weeding, the best way to know if its a weed and not a valuable plant is to pull it.

If it comes out easy, it was a valuable plant !

Not easy is it?

You might have to go abroad and bite the bullet when it come to shipping.

Seems daft for the RHS to recommend something that's not readily available.
Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?

The RHS page doesn't look as if it has been updated in ages, and new varieties are developed every year  ;)

Its one of the reasons why I don't like F1 seeds, the suppliers seem to create new varieties every year (almost just for the sake of it) so if you get something you like, the chances are it won't be available again. >:(

Tornado had been around for years, mentioned in 2002 on medwyn's site
http://www.medwynsofanglesey.co.uk/articles/34/growing_your_own_vegetables___tomatoes

and still being sold in the USA so you can hardly say it was only around for a few years, can you?  :nowink:

True enough MOS but I've spent 20 mins looking to see if there is an online supplier in the UK and haven't had any luck.
So a F1 that was clearly well liked and recommended by RHS seems to have disappeared in the UK. It may well have been sur'planted' by another F1 but I can't find out any info on that matter.  ;)

Seems to me like HeadGardener has a point.

I found reference to Losetto being a "Tornado type" here:

if you were looking for an alternative
