Hi Guys/Gals

Who has allotment insurance?  Who is it with?  How much do you pay?

Thanks
Dear God, Please can you stop the wind and rain and bring on the nice weather. Amen

Hiya,

Our site has insurance with Bluefin - £68 per year that is essentially to provide the site with £5 million liability cover
Shield (recommended by the NALG) would be £262 which would also cover the 2 association sheds and our petrol mowers and strimmers. I'd guess the second figure would give you a ballpark idea for insurance for your own shed/equipment...

NSALG have insurance available for associations.  We have that one, Baldy, it's quite cheap.

Actually the second figure i gave seems high - but it would have given the association £10 million liability cover - which is why the premium is bigger.

Our association went with Shield this year after discovering that Bluefin wouldn't cover us on our newly erected palisade fence, we pay £430 but the cover is very extensive.

On our site we have insurance via the RHS.   We pay £35 affiliation fee,  £70 for £5m of public liability insurance and £65 for £5000 of cover for our storage container and equipment.  Total £170.   You can pay more for larger cover, but this suits our society's needs.

We have Bluefin as well I think - it worked out cheaper for us than the NSALG equivalent.
