Any idea what this might be? Fungus?

Is it quite light in weight?

Did you see any black 'bootlace' type things in the soil near where you found it?

It does look like a fungus of some description.  They do commonly feed on dead matter so it's not necessarily a cause for concern.

I was wondering whether it was honey fungus, which isn't good news, but it looks a little too dark from your photos.  This has the black bootlaces in the soil.

It could be a bracket fungus.

But there are so many varieties of fungus I suspect it might not be possible to definitively identify it for sure.
