I sow runners,borlotti, French climbing & dwarf in either root trainers or loo rolls, or last year did loo rolls into modules to give a bit of extra compost.
As for unravelling runners one year they were so bad I just pruned them down to the first true leaves & planted them out,they were the best I've ever had & were much admired by the old boys on the plot :lol:.mshame I've never had the courage to repeat it. :lol:

I usually just bunch the loo rolls in an ice cream container, or in a seed tray with some twine around them to keep them upright.
