We tried to get some out here but they are hard to come by, even twenty araucana eggs we bought were infertile. Buying pol definitely the way to go if only we could find any. Cream legbars lay blue too. Easter eggers lay a mix of blue, green and brown and any other colour l think, but you don't know what you get till they lay unless the breeder knows what the parents were.

That's all l know, but l know a chap who has oriental blue egg layers. Someone else will know better than me.

Hi daz. When I started with hens I looked for ages on google to find which lay the most. That's what I wanted them for. I'm sure if you asked both questions you will be shown lots of help.  :)

I have a cream legbar and she is a beautiful lady and lays pale blue eggs.

I got her from the lady at the farm in Devon that we stay for our holidays. I don't know anywhere in your area where you can get  them though.

I have seen some for sale at a garden centre near us.

Cotswold Legbar lays a blue or green egg. If you google chicken breeds you should find a list of breeds that also give colour of eggs.
Experience is what you get when you didn't get what you wanted!!

all blue egg layers have got araucana genes in them - the only true blue egg layers are araucanas. With cream legbars and other hybrids you are not guaranteed to get blue eggs so check out the quality of the eggs being laid before you buy.
Where abouts are these ones coming from - I'm not far from Grantham and sadly only have 1 araucana left.
Staffies are softer than you think.

A friend of mine breeds and sells Green Legged Partridge Fowl which come form Poland and in the fact are the national bird. Despite their unusual name they are chickens and lay eggs coloured from pale green to almost khaki. She is in the Forest of Dean, which is a bit far from you, but if you incubate she also sells the eggs.
