Hi can anyone tell me the best way to plant my potatoes, Last year I did three different potatoes in different places two at the allotment and one lot at home.

The two I planted  at the allotment caught Blackleg, & I planted them well away from each other, I don't want the same again this year, some good tips on how to plant them this year would be great.

The seed potatoes I have bought this year are Rocket & Pentland javelin

So, make sure you do some sort of crop rotation - don't put this years spuds where last years were...
If you find any 'volunteer' spuds in the area that you grew last year don't be tempted to let them grow - and don't compost them either.
Seems it mostly comes from infected seed potatos (some will get through the checks that the suppliers employ) or from volunteers left over from previous years. So, you were probably just unlucky.

Some varieties are more susceptible than others. You can check on the potato variety database to find those that are less likely to suffer.
