I tried going dairy-free to help with a chronic sinus complaint, but couldn't do without milk in tea and coffee. Soya milk seemed like the answer, but the wind!!     I was made to sit alone in the kitchen until the effects subsided. :(

Hence the original question, 'cause I don't want to repeat the experience. Ever.

Ahh the joys of a chronic sinus problem makes my life a living hell, several operation later and hey they made it worse.. nice. Sat here as most days with a blinding headache and teeth and eyes aching like mad

I know cutting out or reducing milk is supposed to help, especially when you've got a cold, but don't quote me on that!

I didn't get any problem (vegetarian version of WG JA soup), and that's proably a good thing as I'm getting about 6lbs of tubers a plant and put in 24.

But haven't tried raw grated JA as a salad ingredient yet - does anyone else eat that?

Yes, well sliced rather than grated.  In fact, thats my favourite way to eat 'em.  Never had a wind problem with them but from the sounds of it, you either do or you don't.  Mind you, I've probably only ever eaten one tuber at any one time.
