I have got a cheapo p/t which has served me well. I figured I'd learn and make mistakes with that and then move onto a quality p/t.

That said, I've searched for years for that green webbed plastic (the supplier won't tell me) and I'd like to buy it by the roll. Anyone know what it's called and/or where I can get it from, please?

It is called green PE gridded fabric, but I can only find it in the white version myself so far ......

.... and that was sold as a tarpaulin to cover a market stall. Some of the guys on our site have covered their polytunnels in it and it seems to last quite well

Having said that, the "proper" stuff for covers may not that much dearer I reckon.

There is a supplier here (China I think). I have purchased things from China and never had any problems. They sell by the roll, and you could always contact them re shipping costs etc

12+ years ago, I bought a tunnel from Solartunnels. It has a green mesh cover and is still going strong. They might sell it separately because I know I could buy a new cover from them if and when I need it.

Is your plastic hanging in place or pulled tight?

I'm guessing the latter.

Just had a smile to myself - just been on to the Chinese sites and now they have response rates in the boxes...

... of 3% and 20% !

I'm guessing unless it's such a massive quantity they are not interested. So far I've seen 5 tons minimum order and 50,000 sq meters min order..... I need a bigger garden!

You are probably right Kevin

Fatcat's suggestion sounds more feasible -- do keep us posted on progress please  :D

Alibaba is a $billion company, so I presume they are either only looking for trade customers, or are a marketplace (in which case I think you'd need to contact an individual company, who's products are listed on Alibaba, rather than the company itself?)

I wasn't aware of that - thanks for the heads-up. I'll have another look for the companies you suggest. Thanks again!

Yeah Kristen is right Alibaba is just a market place, think of Amazon but bigger......You would need to contact the vendors directly.
