Saving Seeds from Runner Beans
« on: October 26, 2014, 12:01 »
I am in the process of tidying up the allotement and I still have some unpicked runner beans. Is it possible to save these beans, dry them and use the seeds from inside to grow next year's crop from?
Thank you

Yes, but they may not grow as exactly the same variety, if they got cross-pollinated.

I usually save the beans for next year.  I find the easiest method is to leave the old pods on the plants until they are brown then just pod and store somewhere dry.

Good luck.
