« on: October 19, 2014, 13:18 »
Hi all,

I have a speckled Sussex, she is approx 18months old. Today, I noticed her ears a turning white...why is this happening?

Thanks in advance!
Keep calm & talk to chickens :)

????

I have a Dutch bantam cock that has white ears instead of red but that's his lovely markings

only other thing I can think of is sometimes they get a white dust form on their red crests which is a sort of fungus - can be treated with tea tree oil

I've seen this on a friend's hens.  Certainly a fungus of some sorts, so I'd try what Barley has suggested.  Not sure if my friend dealt with the problem, if they did something different, I'll let you know.
