Any knowledge from Breeders would be helpful?
« on: October 13, 2014, 17:11 »
Could anyone give me an idea of what i would get if I allowed my hens to hatch eggs from a gold link cockerel?
Pics are attached of Cockerel and hens. The hens I have are all hybrids and the names are Rhode Island Ranger, White Star, Light Sussex Nova, Speckled Ranger, Golden Rock, Bluebell. Any idea's would be great as looking to breed a small amount of chickens in the spring.

I think it's hard to say, because all the hybrid hens have genes from different breeds to give them different characteristics.

It isn't just a case of them being a cross between 2 breeds say.....

Most hybrids come via Hendrix genetics in Holland.  If you Google them, like I did several years ago, you could maybe ask their advice.  I found them very helpful.
