Vine Weevil

We have 5 Blueberry plants in pots and want to protect them against Vine Weevil infestation.What can we use on them safely apart from Biocontrol with Nematodes ?

We understand that some drenches cannot be used on food plants. Any advice gratefully received.

I looked into this last year and found that nematodes were pretty much 'it'...

Thanks for that auntimogs.I thought as much.Its a bit late now to start using Nematodes must look into it for next year.

Actually, it's a really good time to catch the young grubs Mike. I think they recommend that you nematode twice a year (spring and autumn).

I had quite a problem with them last year, but when I re-potted my strawbs a couple of months ago, I only found one grub, so it does seem to work.

Thanks Auntimogs.I have just ordered a box of Nemysy ( or how you spell it ) from Amazon.
I will use it on our Raspberries as well as the Blueberries.
Do you know if they affect Apricot trees ? We have one that has a this time of the year the leaves have holes eaten out of them.

I'm not really sure Mike (sorry). I know they particularly like strawberries, and I had a small conifer die because the roots were badly munched. I just nematode any edibles in pots and use chemicals on the rest.
