Because if so, I want one.  We have 3 small bushes and the thorns are lethal.  I look like I self-harm, my arms are so badly scratched.  Normally it's my husband's job to pick them, but he keeps on saying he'll do them tonight, then another night, then another night. So this year it's my turn for the torture!

So if anyone knows of a thorn free bush, please tell me it's name and where I can purchase

I'm not aware of any thornless ones except the crosses with blackcurrants such as the Worcesterberry (SP?). However some varieties are much worse than others. I have Invicta which is a really nasty one, but has massive crops. I seem to remember that leveller was not as bad and that Golden Drop or Early Surphur had very small almost furry spikes. Maybe others will remember them better.

I want one too!  Why do the biggest ones always grow in the centre of the shrub surrounded by the longest thorns??

I'm intending to prune mine hard in the next week or two and see if I can encourage them to grows as cordons.
I reckon that if successful that should cut down on the number of times I get impaled...

Cheers,
Balders
