Mystery claw loss

Noticed a trail of blood this a m and Chocky has lost a claw. It must have happened before I let them out this a m as there is blood on the lower perch and where she's walked...

Can't see how on earth she did it... no sharp edges etc... ?

She's inside today for a while.

perhaps she slipped off the perch over night and caught it. Once it has stopped bleeding (wound powder helps with this) then let her back out as soon as possible - keeping them separate is not such a good idea unless they are really ill or infectious.

One of my girls Josephine did the same - either fighting (tut) or caught it on something. There was quite a lot of blood all over the place but once she was scratching away happily in the dirt, this staunched the bleeding. I did clean it and puffed some wound powder on it but left her to it as she didn't seem bothered. I checked her yesterday as I have been treating her over the last few months for scaley leg and her stump is fine. Not a contender for Miss Lovely legs

Quick recovery here too - and an egg!

Just wish I knew how so it doesn't happen again.
