Help identifying apple type

Howdy all

Got a new plot and I have an apple tree, no idea on variety, any ideas?

Looks like a bramley apple to me.

Brogdale are not infallible, 3 times we have tried to have our apples identified, 3 times they have failed (for various reasons, once they were put in a drawer and forgotten). wait until its ripe and try it, if its sour its a cooker, if not its an eater. our tree can produce fruit in excess of 1 lb an apple, yet they are sweet enough to eat, cook nicely, but dont store at all well (they go through the corer/peeler into bags get vacuum packed then frozen. they come out of the freezer and can be microwave from frozen to a good apple sauce with no added anything.
