What's eating my rocket?
« on: July 26, 2014, 15:24 »
I seem to be cursed when it comes to growing rocket, this being the first time in 3 years any of my seeds have actually taken. Been growing them outside with a loosely fitting propagator lid to protect from wind since about 9th of July, and over the last few days I've noticed something is munching away at the lot of them. It's really irritating me as I never see anything on them and there doesn't appear to be anything laying eggs. The photo below was taken today, and I'd say it was only on Tuesday the damage first started.

Any advice would be appreciated! :)

It looks like flea beetle damage to me, classic signs are the small holes in the leaves they love rocket.

So right, Mark.

They also loved my swede seedlings too

As they plants got bigger though they seemed to shrug the beetles off though, so I hope the same is true for rocket plants

Keep the soil damp and/or cover with fleece. Has worked for me ;)
