Spend less time worrying about family members who have shown their true colours and spend more time doing me things instead.

I will successional sow.

I will ditch all the out if date seed that had really poor germination this year and start with fresh ones.

I will plan what I am planting.

I will make sure all the rogue potatoes are dug up.

Plant anything.

I don't think I will bother with anything next year.

Everything I have planted, all grown from seed, has been a complete failure.  :(

Radish.....4
Rocket....0
Onions.....looking very poor, about the size of a whole walnut
Broad Beans.....these were good
Tomatoes...some flower no fruit
Courgette....0
Raspberries.....0
Cherries.....0
Lettuce....1

I am holding out for my runner beans, 8 plants, one flower cluster so far.

Next year I will not let Mrs Steve do the grocery shopping.

That way we won't be eating shrink wrapped broccoli and cucumber when we've got a garden full of peas, turnips, spring onions and baby carrots!

Never stop learning

Have you had success in previous years? It sounds like you've had a dismal year but we're happy to offer advice to get you growing successfully.

(Maybe on a separate thread though!)

Mr. Snoop does the shopping but I write the shopping list. It's a good strategy. ;)

Mrs Growster always writes the list, and we have got to know the foibles as a team, when we shop!

So then I always buy something like a kilo of peanuts, which were not on the list, and the fun starts...

Thanks, I ask numerous questions and have received a wealth of information from a great many, very knowledgeable members.
I love this site for that very reason  :)

I try & follow the advice, the soil here is particularly poor so it's a fight, right from the start  :(
I think I've got brown fingers  :(

I'm also a lot grumpier than usual because my foot is still broken  >:(

I will manure again in the Autumn......& I will "grow" again next year.....I will ask questions.....I will get answers....I will follow the advice......the results remain to be seen

Back on topic.........................Next year I will not.....................wait until squirrel nutkin has destroyed my raspberries before I trap it/ them and kill it/them  >:( >:( >:(
I have enough problems without having to fight vermin

Ha ha ha, Dugless!

I've just seen a special pot of Marmite while shopping, which is a rare comestible, so then went in the trolley straight away!

And four big beers too...

Next year, I will not....

....keep putting off planting out my tomato seedlings until they have gone all leggy, completely defeating the object of getting them going 3 weeks earlier than usual!

....hope for the best if my strawberries fail to grow any leaves...I'll be checking for weevils straight away!

....let my OH buy my grow bags ("did you realise just how much these things cost? You can buy a lot of tomatos for that!")

I've heard that as well!

My excuse is that it costs so much for us to go into town to go shopping (maybe four euros in petrol to the nearest village), it's worth our while having as much produce as possible growing at home.
