Mildew on Sugar Snaps.
« on: July 04, 2014, 11:10 »
Having grown mange-Tout, Sugar Snaps and ordinary peas in the past, I am just growing snaps this year and, for the first time, I have mildew on some of them. I did sprinkle the seeds in the drill a bit thickly this year and we have a good air flow here, but maybe the humidity hasn't helped. I don't normally have to spray and anyway, the first harvest is ready for picking. Will they be ok?
I work very hard so don't expect me to think as well.

Harvest then then compost them  ;) Mine have gone the same way - it's lack of water at the roots that causes the problem  ;)

It's been very hot and dry here, and I've got free draining/sandy soil - all conducive to mildew  :(
