Cabbage seedlings too large to transplant?
« on: June 19, 2014, 12:50 »

Cabbage seedlings too large to transplant?  Is there an upper limit to the size at which cabbages can be transplanted and thrive.  Came back from holiday to find they had grown larger than I would have thought! 8)

Cheers,   Tony.
I may be growing OLD, but I refuse to grow UP !

As long as the roots are free and young enough to grow/spread out they'll be ok.
I've had trouble in the past when they were root-bound with the roots dark and not growing  :(

Well, they aren't picking up after the transplant, I may trim off a few of the larger leaves to reduce transpiration.

Cheers,   Tony.
