Moving Strawberries
« on: January 10, 2008, 13:50 »
Hi All

I have a question regarding my strawberry plot. I would like to move it, when is the best time to do this? Can i dig the whole lot up and store the roots until the spring and replant. Replant now, or just wait till spring?

Cheers in advance!

I'd say replant whilst things are cold and dormant

I'd agree, if you want it done for this season move it before Feb/March frosts and consequent spring growth starts. As long as you are not waterlogged.

Is this necessary though? Only asking as after 4-5 years you should renew your strawb patch anyway, couldn't it be done then?
