5 Hours
« on: June 17, 2014, 14:12 »
When I opened the lean-to this morning these were 2 very healthy miniature white cucumber plants - now look at them

Max has been out there all day so I can't imagine a mouse or bird would have done it without being chased off, which leaves only one party who could be guilty !    :nowink:

I asked him - he denied it... So I reviewed the video tape. He's so busted  :nowink:

The lean-to is to the right of the picture on the concrete plinth, you can clearly see his rear end sticking out whist he was committing the offence. It took him a little over 4 minutes to strip the plants.

I suppose I should take some of the blame, I've been giving him the stalk end of the cucumbers, I guess the leaves smelt and tasted the same.   :nowink:

Bang to rights - as they say on the telly.  :nowink:  It might not be too late to try again.

Not slugs then!

Nope (he's probably eaten those too). Should I be concerned he ignored the lollo rossa, the land cress, the basil and spring onions and only ate the cukes - I'll have to have words about eating his greens

My first thought was slugs as well as they have now stripped half of my broad bean crop, leaves, pods and started on the stems!.  More blue pellets put down!  Norty boy Max but at least you are getting one of your five a day. ::)
