Anyone knows what the cause of this is will it still grow

Looks like damage rather than pest or disease to me.

Have you been anywhere near with a strimmer, etc?

No can it be cats fox birds  will it steel grow.

Could easily be cats or dogs, or even just the wind - the cane that's broken off won't do much but it won't kill the plant or affect any of the other canes.
