feeding plants

Hi all
      A silly question I have obtained a quantity of Hoof and Horn - bonemeal and calsified seaweed.
      My question is what should I put on my beans and brasicas and when?.
       Reading the packets they all seem to do the same.
       I have alot of it .   

Hoof and horn is a high nitrogen feed which I would use on brassicas rather than beans because they are leafy plants as opposed to beans which need more of a balanced feed to produce flowers. If it also has calcified seaweed in it, that makes it a more alkaline (limey) feed which also suits brassicas.

Hoof & Horn is slow release Nitrogen, good for the soil but not for anything that needs nitrogen right now (for that you'd need Blood, Fish & Bone which is quick release Nitrogen) it would be good raked in where the winter brassicas are going. You can also use the Calcified seaweed for them as well - it adds lime plus trace elements to the soil.

Bonemeal feeds bulbs and roots, so good for prepping the onion bed and also use in the hole, for bushes and trees that are being transplanted.
