Firstly don't laugh-this is a genuine question. I currently have 4 cockerels, 2 Buff Orpingtons and 2 Spanish White Faced all in separate pens who often crow in unison however, one of the BO cockerels has started to make this high pitched noise which I can only describe as whistling. It is not when he is being territorial, just when he is stood alone. Has anyone else come across this and know what it is, or should I stay out of the full moon??

My little Alphie has a contented high pitched wavering whistle he makes when he's pottering in the garden with his girls

My BO cockerel makes a chuffing noise when he finds worms and other tid bits and all the hens come over to see what Barry has found

I have never understood how he got so big, he never eats the things he finds, just lets the hens tuck in

If I could get him to whistle a tune I could enter him in Britain's Got Talent------- let's face it ---- there have been worse than that
